Now that my Top 50 Songs of 2024 have been put into the world, I’ve gone about assembling my Top 25 Albums list. These aren’t in any sort of order (other than alphabetical), and my overall process was pretty simple – it’s just the albums that I straight up spent the most time with throughout the year. Enjoy.

Amyl And The Sniffers – Cartoon Darkness
From start to finish, there’s just an infectious amount of energy to be had on Amyl And The Sniffers’ third LP.
Being Dead – Eels
For the second year in a row, Austin’s own Being Dead have delivered a fantastic album.
The Bug Club – On The Intricate Inner Workings Of The System
The Bug Club with 28 minutes and 40 seconds of pure fun.
Chimers – Through Today
This Chimers album is a must if you’re into noise rock.
Enumclaw – Home In Another Life
Another standout 90s-enthused alt-rock effort from Enumclaw.
Fake Fruit – Mucho Distrust
The sound on this Fake Fruit album exists somewhere between post-punk and indie rock, and it’s great.
Faye Webster – Underdressed At The Symphony
A quality comfort album from Faye Webster.
Fcukers – BaggySS
Effortlessly cool stuff from Fcukers.
Font – Strange Burden
Font with the best album out of Austin in 2024.
Fontaines D.C. – Romance
The ascension of Fontaines D.C. continues.
Good Looks – Lived Here For Awhile
Earnest rock from Austin’s Good Looks.
The Hard Quartet – The Hard Quartet
Hell of a band (Stephen Malkmus, Matt Sweeney, Jim White, and Emmett Kelly). Hell of an album.
Hovvdy – Hovvdy
A great double album from Hovvdy, one of my favorite Austin bands.
Idles – Tangk
I’ve only ever been a so-so Idles fan, but this album got me – it’s just got cool sounds and cool songs.
Illuminati Hotties – Power
Sarah Tudzin (of Illuminati Hotties) does not ever disappoint.
Jack White – No Name
This Jack White effort absolutely rips.
Maggie Rogers – Don’t Forget Me
Maggie Rogers exists above us all here.
Mannequin Pussy – I Got Heaven
My most listened to album of the year. It’s perfect. Thank you, Mannequin Pussy.
Mei Semones – Kabutomushi
Vibes and vibes and more vibes on this impeccable EP from Mei Semones.
MGMT – Loss Of Life
Like a lot of MGMT’s catalog, I wasn’t sure what to think of this album at first, but it eventually grew on me. You just have to appreciate how they never go where you think they will.
Mono – Oath
Post-rock excellence (for the billionth time) from Mono.
Mount Eerie – Night Palace
This Mount Eerie album is a real undertaking but it’s worth the effort.
Nilufer Yanya – My Method Actor
One of my default go-to albums of the year – it’s an easy listen but it also has a lot of interesting stuff going on. Nilufer Yanya is a gem.
Sleater-Kinney – Little Rope
A really nice bounce-back album from Sleater-Kinney. They’ve still got it.
Vampire Weekend – Only God Was Above Us
Another high quality effort from Vampire Weekend.
