Quickdraw: Hinds, Tycho, The Men, Snarls, Hazel English
Enjoy.
Hinds – Good Bad Times
I was caught off guard by the shift in sound here (garage rock to pop), but I like it. Feels like summer. Hinds will release The Prettiest Curse on April 3. Be sure to catch them at Antone’s on June 9.
Tycho – Outer Sunset
Instrumental Tycho is my favorite Tycho. The new album is a companion piece to last year’s Weather and is titled Simulcast (due out on February 28). The act will play Stubb’s on May 18.
The Men – Breeze
I never know what to expect from The Men, and I like that. This particular track is off their new album, Mercy (due out February 14), and it rips.
Snarls – Marbles
Snarls just announced their debut LP – it’s called Burst and will be out on March 6. This song is just good, straight-forward indie rock with a nice hook. Into it.
Hazel English – Off My Mind
I’ve been on the Hazel English bandwagon a good while, so I’m very excited for her debut full length, Wake Up!. The latest single is a dreamy pop gem. Here’s hoping she comes to Austin soon.
