Quickdraw: Future Islands, Chelsea Wolfe, Snarls, Telehealth, The Umbrellas, Ducks Ltd, Hazel English, Katy Kirby

Enjoy.

Future Islands – The Tower

I appreciate how consistent Future Islands have been over the years – they’ve got their lane and they really stay in it. This familiar-feeling track is off the band’s new album, People Who Aren’t There Anymore, which will be out on January 26.

Chelsea Wolfe – Whispers In The Echo Chamber

Chelsea Wolfe announced a tour and released a new tune about a month ago, and now she’s rolled out another track + info on her upcoming album – She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She is due February 9. This swirling single is so heavy and so good.

Snarls – Big Fish

It feels like it’s been a real minute since Snarls have put out anything, so I’m happy to suddenly have this alt rock gem to dig into. Hopefully an album announcement isn’t too far off.

Telehealth – Mindtrap / Bitter Melody

Telehealth just dropped a pair of tracks as a part of Sub Pop’s Singles Club series. Both of them are catchy and creative art pop efforts.

The Umbrellas – Three Cheers!

Fairweather Friend is the title of The Umbrellas’ new album that will be out on January 26. Good luck getting this pop tune out of your head anytime soon.

Ducks Ltd. – The Main Thing

Ducks Ltd. are back with a new single, and it is – of course – a super jangly earworm. More to come soon from them?

Hazel English – Heartbreaker

My fav Hazel English just dropped another stellar dream pop number. By the way, if you missed her cover of the Goo Goo Dolls’ Slide earlier this year, you should give it a go.

Katy Kirby – Table

Katy Kirby has a new album on the way – it’s titled Blue Raspberry and it’ll be released on January 26. There’s more of a kick to this track than I was expecting (especially compared to her 2021 album, Cool Dry Place) – I like it.
