Quickdraw: Dinosaur Jr., Horsegirl, Iceage, Cherry Glazerr, Man On Man, Remember Sports, Alex Lahey & Gordi, Matt Berninger, Haim & Taylor Swift, Shura

Enjoy.

Dinosaur Jr. – I Ran Away

I think I say this every time that Dinosaur Jr. puts something out, but how are they still this good after all these years? Anyhow, this soaring number is off of the band’s upcoming album, Sweep It Into Space (due out April 23). Side note, Kurt Vile co-produced it!

Horsegirl – Ballroom Dance Scene

When I shared a tune from Francis Of Delirium a couple of weeks back, I assumed that would be that on the talented teen front for awhile, but nope, here’s Horsegirl. The trio of high schoolers sound like the next big thing on this dreamy little number. Look for their two-song 7″ on April 2.

Iceage – Vendetta

Iceage have followed up their recent single (listen to it here) with an official album announcement! Seek Shelter is set to be released on May 7. This new track is oh-so-slinky in a late at night, coke-y sort of way.

Cherry Glazerr – Big Bang

Cherry Glazerr seem to be shifting from indie rock into more of a synthy thing, but I’m not mad about it – this track is great. As of now, the band has not announced a new album, but I assume that this news is coming soon.

Man On Man – 1983

Man On Man is Roddy Bottum (Faith No More, Imperial Teen, CRICKETS, Nastie Band) & Joey Holman, and their self titled debut album will be released on May 7. Everything about this track is rad.

Remember Sports – Pinky Ring

Remember Sports are going to be rolling out a new album, Like A Stone, on April 23. This band always churns out really hooky, sharply written tracks, so I’m not surprised that the first single features both of those things.

Alex Lahey & Gordi – Dino’s

Aussies Alex Lahey and Gordi are as endearing as can be on this lovely one-off single. Slap on some headphones and let it shimmer directly into your ears.

Matt Berninger – Let It Be

Good news! A deluxe edition of Matt Berninger’s Serpentine Prison is coming on March 12. This bonus tune (one of six that will be on the extended LP) is not a Beatles cover, but it is great and I’m surprised it didn’t make the original cut of the album.

Haim & Taylor Swift – Gasoline

Haim were on a Taylor Swift track (No Body, No Crime), and now she’s on one of theirs. Unsurprisingly, the result is great. The expanded edition of Haim’s Women In Music Pt. III is out now.

Shura – Obsession (Featuring Rosie Lowe)

Like Matt Berninger and Haim up above, Shura also has a deluxe edition of her most recent album, Forevher, on the way (it’ll be out on March 26). This bonus track (one of nine) is damn good.
