Quickdraw: Bon Iver, Tony Molina, Seratones, (Sandy) Alex G, Japanese Breakfast

Enjoy.

Bon Iver – Hey, Ma

Bon Iver recently put out two new singles that – I assume – are from an impending album.  I’ve yet to fully get into U (Man Like), but I think that Hey, Ma is inspired stuff.  Definitely excited to hear more.

Tony Molina – Not The Way To Be/Can’t Find My Way

Songs From San Mateo County is the name of Tony’s Molina’s rarities album that will be out on July 19.  The guy is the best at doing a lot in very short, simple songs.  By the way, he’s playing Empire Control Room this Thursday.

Seratones – Power

Here’s the latest off of Seratones’ upcoming album, Power.  Like the single that came out a few weeks back, it’s loud, sassy and fun. The album is due out on August 23, and on that same day they’ll be playing at Stubb’s Indoors.

(Sandy) Alex G – Gretel

First of all, I did not realize that (Sandy) Alex G was so prolific – his new LP, House Of Sugar (due September 13), is his ninth!  Secondly, his latest slice of indie rock is great.

Japanese Breakfast – Head Over Heels (Tears For Fears Cover)

This gentle Tears For Fears cover from Japanese Breakfast is a real winner.  Side note, if you missed the other song that she did for W Records, you should take a moment to check it out.

“Loud, sassy, and fun” is the perfect description for the Seratones song.
