Quickdraw: Mannequin Pussy, Empath, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Japanese Breakfast, FKA Twigs

Enjoy.

Mannequin Pussy – Drunk II

Hell of a break up anthem here from Mannequin Pussy.  Definitely will need to check out their new album, Patience, when it gets released on June 21.

Empath – Roses That Cry

Empath are a band I should have caught earlier in the year.  They’re super noisy and hooky, and I’m very ready to dive into their debut album, Active Listening: Night On Earth.  Thankfully, I won’t have to wait long, as it’s due out this Friday.

Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever – Read My Mind

Here’s the b-side off of a 7″ that Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever just put out on Sub Pop.  It’s a jangly, infectious effort that’s very much worth your time.

Japanese Breakfast – Essentially

There are apparently two new tracks coming from Japanese Breakfast – both are set to be released via W Records and all of the proceeds from them will benefit the ACLU.  The first one is here, and it’s a dreamy, dance-worthy number.

FKA Twigs – Cellophane

WOW.  That’s just about the only word my brain was able to conjure all throughout the latest from FKA Twigs.  What an absolutely transfixing song/video.  No word yet on a new album, but I assume an announcement is coming soon.
