Quickdraw: Fucked Up, Justus Proffit & Jay Som, Kurt Vile, Black Belt Eagle Scout, Low, Ian Sweet

Fucked Up – Normal People

This is a weird track that does and doesn’t sound like Fucked Up.  I dig it.  The band’s upcoming double album, Dose Your Dreams, is due out October 5.

Justus Proffit & Jay Som – Nothing’s Changed

According to their press release, Justus Proffit and Jay Som met in LA and then decided to make an EP together (just for fun).  I hope it’s all as 90s-enthused as the first single.  Nothing’s Changed is due out September 28.

Kurt Vile – Loading Zones

I was starting to wonder if Kurt Vile would ever properly follow-up 2015’s B’lieve I’m Goin Down, so I’m happy he’s put out a new tune.  I’m guessing an album announcement will come soon.  Vile will play ACL Live on December 6.

Black Belt Eagle Scout – Just Lie Down

If you haven’t been spending much time with Black Belt Eagle Scout, you really should.  Both of the singles off of Mother Of My Children (due September 14) have been stellar.

Low – Disarray

This semi-jarring effort is one of the more interesting songs that Low has ever crafted.  Put on headphones!  Double Negative will be released on September 14.

Ian Sweet – Hiding

Ian Sweet have announced a new album, Crush Crusher (due October 26), and I’m really excited for it based solely on its high quality lead single.  The band will play the Mohawk on November 16.
