Quickdraw: Jonsi, Neutrals, Helena Deland, Traams, Ian Sweet

Enjoy.

Jonsi – Salt Licorice (Featuring Robyn)

Jonsi + Robyn is a combination that I didn’t know I wanted – what a fun track this is! In case you missed the news, the former just released his new solo album, Shiver.

Neutrals – Personal Computing

Slumberland is bringing their 30th Anniversary Singles Club to a close, and this infectious number from Neutrals will be on one of two final 7″s (both are due out December 4). Side note, I wasn’t familiar with these guys until this track came along – I’m definitely going to dive into more of their stuff.

Helena Deland – Pale

Here’s another impressive song from Helena Deland. Her likely-to-fantastic debut album, Someone New, will arrive next week (October 16).

Traams – Intercontinental Radio Waves

One of the more pleasant surprises of 2020 has been the return of Traams. This new one from them isn’t as enormous as their first track back, but it’s an interesting slice of indie rock nonetheless.

Ian Sweet – Power

“My mind is a shrine / For all the ways to say goodbye to you”

Now that’s a line! This is Ian Sweet’s most recent single for her new label, Polyvinyl. I assume an album is in the works there.

Like the Jonsi/Robyn track which is the best on his latest disc. Really love The Neutrals and can’t wait it for to be released on Spotify. Helena Deland is nice. Can’t relate to Traams. Never would have guessed Ian Sweet is female.
