MGMT – Bubblegum Dog

Here’s another 90s-ish standout from MGMT’s impending album, Loss Of Life, which will be out on February 23. I can already tell the LP is going to be one of my favorites next year.

Mama Zu – Lip

After their time together in Those Darlins, Linwood Regensburg and Jessi Zazu started working on a project called Mama Zu, but it was shelved after Zazu passed away in 2017. Now, it’s coming out – the album is titled Quilt Floor and it’s due February 23. The first single rips.

Mannequin Pussy – Sometimes

These Mannequin Pussy singles just keep going hard and – like the MGMT album I mentioned further up in this post – I just know their upcoming LP is going to be a big winner for me next year. I Got Heaven will be out on March 1. Also, for those in Austin, the band is playing the Mohawk on April 20.

Gglum – Easy Fun

Gglum just rolled out another really fun single. Still no word yet on an album, but I imagine that news will come around at the start of 2024.

Birthmark – Rodney

The first Birthmark (aka Nate Kinsella) album in eight years is titled Birth Of Omni and it’s set to be released on January 19. I think this first single is pretty wonderful.
