Quickdraw: Skullcrusher, Bright Eyes, Car Seat Headrest, Jehnny Beth, Bishop Nehru & MF DOOM

Enjoy.

Skullcrusher – Places/Plans

Helen Ballentine is Skullcrusher, and she does not at all sound like her moniker would suggest.  On another note, the “I don’t have plans for tomorrow” line here couldn’t be more timely.  Her self titled debut EP is due out June 26.

Bright Eyes – Forced Convalescence

Here’s the latest from Bright Eyes.  I can’t say that either of their new singles have blown me away, but they’re solid and I continue to be ready for their impending album (whatever it’s called and whenever it arrives).

Car Seat Headrest – Hollywood

This is a wild, bizarro Modest Mouse-ish one from Car Seat Headrest, and I love it.  Making A Door Less Open is due out May 1.

Jehnny Beth – Innocence

The debut solo effort, To Love Is To Live, from Jehnny Beth (of Savages) has been given a new release date – June 12 (from May 8).  I think this new single is absolutely electric.

Bishop Nehru & MF DOOM – Meathead

Two things.  1) This track has reminded me that I need to listen to Bishop Nehru more.  2) MF DOOM is the best.  Nehruvia: My Disregarded Thoughts will be out on May 8 (unless further “managerial disputes” delay it again).
