Yum

If you made it out to the Blackheart for the last SOTO Presents, then you probably saw Yum open the evening with a really nice set.  If you weren’t there, I hate you.  OK, not really.  Still though, you really need to hear this trio.  I think they’re one of Austin’s most promising acts.  Keep an eye out next week for a video to go along with today’s featured track, and then be sure to go celebrate the arrival of the band’s debut, Take My Blue, at their album release party on October 18 at Spiderhouse Ballroom.  Enjoy.

:Yum – Take My Blue:  Samantha Skinner’s soft vocal work is the definite highlight here, but I will say that I very much love the Warpaint-like turn of the arrangement around the halfway point of the song.  If you like your indie rock with plenty of ambiance, then look no further than Yum.
