Movie Breakdown: Horsegirl, A Place To Bury Strangers, Sweeping Promises, Proper, Gang Of Youths

Enjoy.

Horsegirl – Billy

The oft-buzzed about Horsegirl have announced a new 7″ (due out March 25) and a tour (they’re playing SXSW). This new one from them is a legit indie rock gem.

A Place To Bury Strangers – Let’s See Each Other

I’m really liking this dark and noisy pop track from A Place To Bury Strangers. The band will release a new album, See Through You, on February 4.

Sweeping Promises – Pain Without A Touch

Man oh man is this an immensely infectious new track from Sweeping Promises. I missed their 2020 debut, Hunger For A Way Out, and will be checking it out immediately.

Proper – Red, White & Blue

“The song started as me just wanting to write something you’d hear if At The Drive-In collaborated with early Paramore.”

More please. Two things:

1) Proper just signed to Father/Daughter Records.
2) The band is playing at the Mohawk tonight (November 17).

Gang Of Youths – Tend The Garden

To be honest, I wasn’t all that into this track when I first heard it, but it’s grown on me. There’s an almost lounge-y vibe to it that’s really nice on the ears. Anyhow, the band will release their new album, Angel In Realtime, on February 25. Also, be sure to catch them at the Scoot Inn on May 23.
