Quickdraw: Illuminati Hotties, Jenn Champion & Oyster Kids, Torres, Gang Of Youths, La Luz, Lunar Vacation, Aldous Harding, Pip Blom

Enjoy.

Illuminati Hotties – Pool Hopping

My favs Illuminati Hotties have announced a new album – it’s called Let Me Do One More and it’s due out on October 1 (which is way too far away, if you ask me). Put this super catchy track on all your summer playlists now!

Jenn Champion & Oyster Kids – Love Nobody

This is a slick pop tune from Jenn Champion and Oyster Kids. I’m for sure going to have to check out their EP, Love Nobody, when it gets released on June 29.

Torres – Hug From A Dinosaur

I can’t recall Torres ever being this weird or playful – it works for her, though. She will release an album called Thirstier on July 30.

Gang Of Youths – The Angel Of 8th Ave.

I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for another Gang Of Youths album, and while one has still not yet been announced, I’m happy to at least have this expansive new track.

La Luz – In The Country

La Luz recently announced some tour dates and put out this dusty, very vibe-y song. Hopefully a new album isn’t too far off.

Lunar Vacation – Shrug

Atlanta’s Lunar Vacation have announced that they’ve signed to Austin-based imprint Keeled Scales. I wasn’t previously familiar with the band, but I like this spirited track a lot and am now looking forward to their debut album (due out later this year).

Aldous Harding – Old Peel

Everything about this one-off single/video from Aldous Harding is just wild. I love it.

Pip Blom – Keep It Together

Here’s a bouncy new one from Pip Blom. Their sophomore LP, Welcome Break, is due out October 8.

So much to like about the Gang of Youths song – music like The National before they mellowed into soundscapes, lead singer with the charisma of a young Adam Duritz, and intense vocals. Huge thumbs up.
