The Hives – Enough Is Enough

“Everyone’s a little fucking bitch!”

The Hives had me right away on this one. The band will drop an album titled The Hives Forever Forever The Hives on August 29, and they’re hitting the road as well – a stop in Austin at Stubb’s is set for September 8.

Wet Leg – Catch These Fists

Considering the momentum they had going with their first album, I’m a little surprised it took so long for Wet Leg to ready a follow up to it. In any case, one is now on the way – it’s titled Moisturizer and it’ll be out on July 11. Judging by this track, they haven’t lost any of their playfulness.

Aesop Rock – Checkers

I’m particularly particular when it comes to hip hop, which is why you pretty much don’t see me posting much of it here. So, that should clue you into how much I like this track from Aesop Rock, who will release a new album, Black Hole Superette, on May 30.

The Raveonettes – Killer

The Raveonettes have a new album that’s almost here – Pe’ahi II is due out April 25. This sprawling single is an easy one to get lost in.

Car Seat Headrest – CCF (I’m Gonna Stay With You)

The second single off Car Seat Headrest’s new album, Scholars (due out May 2), is here and it’s a soaring rocker. Starting to feel like that LP is going to be a favorite of mine this year.
