Well look at that, for the first time in seven years, Christopher Owens (formerly of Girls) has new music on the way – his nicely titled solo album I Wanna Run Barefoot Through Your Hair will arrive on October 18. What a fantastic single this is.

Xiu Xiu – Veneficium

Xiu Xiu’s new album is titled 13″ Frank Beltrame Italian Stiletto With Bison Horn Grips and it’s due out on September 27. This is the second single from it that I’ve found myself rather enamored with – it’s really a blast to … well, blast. Turn it up.

Here’s a surprisingly catchy post-punk-leaning number from A Place To Bury Strangers. Their new album, Synthesizer, is coming out on October 4.

Wild Pink – Sprinter Brain

Wild Pink have a new album titled Dulling The Horns that’s set to arrive on October 4. I feel they’re a band that’s usually kind of quiet, so it was a nice surprise when I hit play here and a driving, anthemic rocker bolted out of my speakers.
