The National – Alphabet City / Space Invader

I’ve been anxiously awaiting The National’s Homecoming Festival, so it was nice of the band to placate me a bit with a pair of new singles. Both are great, but as of right now, I think my favorite is the lengthy Space Invader.

A. Savage – Elvis In The Army

Parquet Courts’ A. Savage has readied a new solo album – the nicely titled Several Songs About Fire will be out on October 6. Expect to dig this clever and catchy tune.

Flat Worms – Sigalert

Here’s another post-punk blast from Flat Worms, who will be releasing a new album, Witness Marks, on September 22. If you’re in Austin, you can see the band at Levitation.

Patio – Relics

Patio will release their new album, Collection, on September 22. This new single is noisy in all of the right ways.

Soccer Mommy – I’m Only Me When I’m With You (Taylor Swift Cover)

Karaoke Night is the title of a new covers EP that Soccer Mommy is set to put out on September 22. I think she does a rad job with this Taylor Swift number.
