Quickdraw: Middle Kids, Slow Pulp, Be Your Own Pet, Flat Worms, The Kills

Enjoy.

Middle Kids – Highlands

I was really hoping that word on a new Middle Kids album would be accompanying this single, but nope! It’s here instead to support the band’s tour with Jimmy Eat World and Manchester Orchestra (Austin-based folks, catch them at ACL Live on August 8). Oh well. On the bright side, it is a great slice of indie rock.

Slow Pulp – Doubt

The impending Slow Pulp album, Yard (due out September 29), is really looking like it’s going to be a winner. This plucky number is the third single from it to wrap me up.

Be Your Own Pet – Big Trouble

Timely, catchy, loud – this might be best single so far from Be Your Own Pet’s new album, Mommy (due out August 25).

Flat Worms – Suburban Swans / Time Warp In Exile

A new Flat Worms album is on the way – Witness Marks will released on September 22. Two post-punk gems from it await you here.

The Kills – New York

I was just talking to my wife about The Kills not having done anything in a long time (their last album was 2016’s Ash & Ice), and now here they are with a new tune that I clearly manifested. You’re welcome! Anyhow, it’s a really slick-but-bombastic number.
