Quickdraw: FIDLAR, Cloud Nothings, Swearin’, Jeff The Brotherhood, Colleen Green
FIDLAR – Are You High?
The latest single from FIDLAR sounds like FIDLAR, meaning that it’s raucous as can be. I will say this though, frontman Zac Carper has really matured as a songwriter, so now there’s some weight to the band’s infectious ways.
Cloud Nothings – The Echo Of The World
I didn’t much care for the last Cloud Nothings album, Life Without Sound, so I’m pumped that the first single off of their new one is really good. Sounds like the band’s early years! Last Building Burning is due out October 19. The band will be at Barracuda on October 27.
Swearin’ – Untitled (LA)
Allison Crutchfield’s voice is really endearing in this new one from Swearin’. I can’t wait for their new album, Fall Into The Sun (due October 5). The band will play Barracuda on December 16.
Jeff The Brotherhood – Camel Swallowed Hole
Here’s a laid back slice of 90s-esque indie rock from none other than Jeff The Brotherhood. Can’t say I ever thought they had such a sound in them. Magick Songs is due out September 7.
Colleen Green – Let Go
Colleen Green’s self titled EP from 2016 is being reissued and expanded. Now called Casey’s Tape/Harmontown Loops, it’ll feature rerecorded versions of the old tunes and four new tracks (one of which is here). I like all of this. You’ll be able to grab the LP on September 7.
