Conor Oberst
I’ve long been a big fan of Conor Oberst. Bright Eyes! So good. Desparecidos! So good. Monsters of Folk! Pretty good. Conor’s work under his actual name! Eh. That’s actually where I sort of draw the line with him. For whatever reason I just have never been totally into his “solo” releases, and I can’t say I cheered when I received an email about his upcoming LP, Salutations (due March 17 via Nonesuch). However, the first single, A Little Uncanny, is good. Really good, actually. He cut it with The Felice Brothers and drummer Jim Keltner (Neil Young, Jackson Browne, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, and more) as his backing band, and I love it. Enjoy.
PS – Conor will be playing ACL Live on May 19.
