Weakened Friends – Torn (Ednaswap/Natalie Imbruglia Cover)

I haven’t seen Weakened Friends play but apparently they like to include a cover of Torn in their set, which is why they’ve now released a studio version. If you’re familiar with the original Ednaswap song, it’s a bit more in line with that but I think it also sports the vulnerable edge that made the Natalie Imbruglia take such a hit. Nice work all around.

Preoccupations – Bastards

I sure like the way this Preoccupations track moves. It’s the second super solid single off the band’s upcoming album, Ill At Ease, which is due out May 9.

Civic – Chome Dipped

Civic have a new album on the way – it’s titled Chrome Dipped and it’ll be out on May 30. This single is far more alt-rock than their previous punk-enthused efforts, but I’m into it.
