Quickdraw: OSEES, Fake Fruit, Illuminati Hotties, Nilufer Yanya, Fcukers, The Bug Club, W.H. Lung, Public Service Broadcasting

Enjoy.

OSEES – Earthling

This fuzzed-out tune from the OSEES is some strut-worthy stuff – I love it. The band’s new album, SORCS 80, is due out August 9. Also, they’re going to be in Austin later this year for Levitation.

Fake Fruit – Mas O Menos

What a ripper from Fake Fruit. Their album, Mucho Mistrust, is going to be released on August 23. By the way, for those in Austin, they’re playing the Mohawk on October 1.

Illuminati Hotties – Power

The back half of my year is set to feature a lot of Illuminati Hotties, and I’m totally fine with that. Check out the endearing title track off Power (due out August 23) here, and then grab your tickets for their impending Levitation appearance.

Nilufer Yanya – Call It Love

Here’s a slinky slow burner from Nilufer Yanya, who will be releasing an album titled My Method Actor on September 13. For the Austin-based – like a lot of the artists in today’s post – you can see her at Levitation later this year.

Fcukers – Homie Don’t Shake

Fcukers are in the running for my favorite new act of 2024 – they’ve just got this whole house/trance/90s/slacker/dance thing going on that I just can’t get enough of. I also really love their lo-fi vids. I can’t wait to dive into their EP, BAGGY$$, when it’s out on September 6, and then see them when they’re in Austin for Levitation.

The Bug Club – Lonsdale Slipons

The Bug Club dropped a really catchy track back in May, and now they’ve announced the album it can be found on – On The Intricate Inner Workings Of The System will be released on August 30. A second (and equally infectious) single awaits you here.

W.H. Lung – How To Walk

The title of W.H. Lung’s new album is Every Inch Of Earth Pulsates, and it’s coming out on October 18. This driving number from it is pretty great.

Public Service Broadcasting – Electra

This is such a vibrant, airy single from Public Service Broadcasting. Their new album, The Last Flight, is about Amelia Earhart and it’s due out October 4.
