Today's Quick Mention: It's time.
I must make a SXSW schedule this weekend. Like
every year, I'm dreading it, but hopefully I'll come
up with something that's doable and fun. Wish
me luck.
Music for your mom. Enjoy.

Mair - Sense:
I still have a rather hard time
believing this girl is 17. She’s really good, and I
don’t just mean good for someone who is 17. In
fact, now that I think about it, bringing up her age
is a essentially a disservice to her, so I’m not
going to do it anymore. This pop track is nice.
Expect to find her self titled debut on June 5 viaLabrador.
:PS
I Love You - Sentimental Dishes:
This band has always been hit or miss for me. I
can’t exactly say why, but sometimes their quirky
pop rock sound just doesn’t work for me.
Fortunately though, I do find this track to be
pretty nifty. Consider me at least open to giving
their upcoming full length a listen or two.
Death Dreams
is due out May 8 via Paper Bag Records.

Corndawg - Shut Up:
Jonny is high on my list of acts to see at SXSW (my
favorable mention can be found
here),
and inspired tracks like this are why I can’t wait
to watch him play. This is actually a re-recorded
version of a track that was on the album
I’m Not Ready To Be A Daddy.
Download and love it before the tune disappears into
the cracks of the internet.
:Saint
Motel - Honest Feedback:
Here’s an act that clearly is just
having a blast. Their sound, lyrics, everything -
it’s all infused with a particular amount of fun
that’s hard to not like in some way or another.
Maybe I’ll have to catch them at SXSW. The band
seems to be on the random single plan when it comes
to releasing music, so who knows when an official
effort will show up.
:Sleepy
Sun - Stivey Pond:
If you want something that’s worthy of a loud
volume, then this is the song for you. Just do me a
favor and make sure it’s cranked high enough so your
neighbors can hear it. You’ll be able to see the
band play all throughout SXSW. Also, their new full
length is titled
Spine Hits,
and it’s expected out April 10 via The End Records.
