Today's Quick Mention: Heads up!
You can now find all of our "SXSW Favorable
Mentions" on one
page.
We still have a ton of acts to recommend, so my
advice is that you stick the link in your bookmarks
for future reference.
Here's something to make your Monday a little better. Enjoy.

- Marathon:
This act certainly knows how to make people pay
attention to them. Last week they put out this
swirling number as the latest single for their
upcoming debut, and then they announced an entirely
different full length with Moonface (Spencer Krug of
Wolf Parade fame). Way to work it, fellas.
Olympic Games is due on February 21 via
Splendour Records.

- Oh Canyon:
I really like Morr Music, so when I got an email
saying that this act had recently joined their
roster, I made sure to give them a listen.
It's good stuff, especially if you like your pop to
sound warm and kind of old. Consider me
interested in hearing whatever else is on Bones,
which is due out on March 13. I think the band
is also expected to be at SXSW.

Cisco - Awkward:
While I didn't exactly put in a lot of effort to
counteract this, I just couldn't escape this track
over the weekend. It's such an incredibly
infectious piece of pop, and I must have listened to
it at least one million times (give or take a few
plays). The Awkward EP just came out
last week, and you (and me) should definitely seek
it out.
:Ravens
And Chimes - Night:
I feel as though this band has been working on their
sophomore full length for an eternity, so I'm happy
to see that it finally has an actual release date.
As you'll see in this track, these guys really know
how to craft pop music that's soft and easy to like.
The new disc is titled Holiday Life, and it's
due out on April 3 via Better Looking Records.
:Summer
Twins - I Don't Care:
Somewhere along the way I totally missed the boat on
this duo, but I'm going to go ahead and take a
better late than never approach with them.
Mostly because I just really dig this upbeat, retro
number. The band's self titled album is
currently available through Burger Records.
They'll also be announcing a tour soon.
