Today's Quick Mention:  I wasn't expecting anything music related at the theater last night, but The Daze (a local act I've written about before) ended up kicking the evening off with a nice little three-song set.  You should really do yourself a favor and check them out on the upcoming Austin Music - Volume 9.

Where did all the psych-bands go?  Seems like forever ago that I had new albums from The Black Angels, Black Mountain and a slew of other bands with the word "black" in their title.  I miss them.  In any case, at least we have Black Rebel Motorcycle Club back with something new.  Watch out for Beat The Devil's Tattoo on March 8.  Enjoy.

:Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Beat The Devil's Tattoo:  "Everyone is king when there's no one left to pawn"  I know BRMC has become more "modern" with every new release, but this sounds as if they've pumped the brakes a bit and decided to revisit what made them such a draw on Howl and earlier efforts.  It'll be really interesting to see what else accompanies this stomping slow burner on the new album.
