Today's Quick Mention:  As shown by Noah's Weekly Movie Guide today, there's actually good stuff hitting theaters!  January was just awful.  I think I'll start with the sure-to-be excellent Coraline and then maybe try to finally get around to seeing another one of the Best Picture nominations (Milk or The Reader?)

I feel as though I've completely moved on from that early millennium sort of radio-ready emo music, but there are a couple of acts floating around that I still like, and one of those is Manchester Orchestra.  They just don't annoy me like everyone else in that genre.  Canvasback Music will release the band's sophomore effort, Mean Everything To Nothing, on April 21.  Enjoy.

:Manchester Orchestra - I've Got Friends:  "I tried to do it all for you/You didn't do anything for me"  To be honest, you aren't going to find anything here that you haven't heard before.  Oddly enough though, it isn't the familiarity that works for this song, it's how genuine it feels.  You never get the impression that they're trying to force anything, and that's certainly a reason to appreciate what they do, which is make emo music that doesn't make you feel like you're trapped in Hot Topic.
