A few days back I broke my cell.  It's now been replaced with an iPhone.  I could probably ramble forever about how amazing it is, but I won't.  I just wanted you to know that it is in case you were thinking about getting one.  Now, let's talk Michael Nau.  Some time ago I was sent one of his songs from his Cotton Jones project.  I put it in the podcast because I thought it was solid, but I also thought that it sounded a bit too similar to Page France or the Broadway Hush.  Well, now Michael has renamed the project the Cotton Jones Basket Ride, and the song that came with that new information has instantly become one of my favorite of 2007.  The LP for the CJBR doesn't come out until early 2008, but I suppose it's never too early to get excited.  Enjoy.

:The Cotton Jones Basket Ride - Had Not A Body:  I think this is one of the best efforts that Michael Nau has ever been apart of.  Not only is it completely different than the energetic folk-pop that he generally does, but it actually comes off with more natural feel.  It's like he's been waiting for years to lay down this bluesy tune, so as he wails away "all demons in my head/I'm gonna leave behind" you can't help but listen and wonder why he didn't do it sooner.  I need more of this as soon as possible.

This is a nifty black and white video for a song called All Along The Year (In A Day).  The tune is similar to the one above, in that it doesn't sound anything like Page France, so I would definitely recommend watching it to get another taste of Michael's new project.
