Today marks the release of what is probably the most hotly anticipated album of 2007, the Arcade Fire's Neon Bible.  I would post up some words about it but everyone is currently doing that, and I technically I have already said pretty much what I need say about the disc.  Instead I am going to share another talented band from Montreal that is as fun as the Arcade Fire is brilliant.  The trio calls themselves Land Of Talk and they will be releasing the Applause Cheer Boo Hiss EP on March 20 via The Rebel Group.  From what I have heard so far the EP is going to completely end up ruling all of us for the rest of the year, so scroll down and get ready to have your mind blown as you try to figure out a way to squeeze in one more performance on your already packed SXSW schedule.  Enjoy.

:Land Of Talk - Speak To Me Bones:  This one gets me every time.  The first minute of the song has a pretty standard indie rock sound but then Elizabeth's Powell's vocals jump in and completely knock you on your ass.  At that point, and for the remaining two and half minutes, all of your attention becomes completely wrapped up in listening to her take the song so far into post-punk territory that you will swear it was the only thing that she and her bandmates were made to do.  Download this now.

I was only sent one song but as always Youtube delivered in my time of need.  Below is the band performing Seafoam, which is also from the EP, at the Knitting Factory in April of last year.  The song is once again stellar but what really stands out in this video is the passion and energy that the band performs with; I need to see this band live as soon as possible.
