Nilufer Yanya – Crash

Here’s a pleasant surprise, Nilufer Yanya just announced an EP called Feeling Lucky? (due out December 11). Her debut, Miss Universe, was one of my favorite releases way back in 2019, so I’m definitely looking forward to it. She has such a fresh sound.

Chris Farren – Fall In Love2Night

Chris Farren is set to release a two-song 7″ on November 20. One of the tracks was put out earlier this year, and the other, which is a really charming piece of power pop, is right here.

Lael Neale – Every Star Shivers In The Dark

Sub Pop has been signing up lots of folks lately, and the latest is Lael Neale. Her debut for the label will be out sometime next year, but for now there’s this simple but entrancing track. It somewhat reminds me of early era Rilo Kiley.

Julien Baker – Faith Healer

Well look who’s back, and with a big, full sound! I’ve always been a Julien Baker fan, but the less-sparse approach is certainly a nice change of pace for her. Little Oblivions is due out February 26.

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets – Tally-Ho

I continue to be very happy that I randomly saw Psychedelic Porn Crumpets play with White Denim years ago – they’re just a blast. Here’s their latest rocker, which is off of SHYGA! The Sunlight Mound (due out February 5).
