Squid – The Hearth And Circle Round Fire

If you’ve yet to get enough of Cowards, the excellent album that Squid put out earlier this year, then today is your lucky day – the band has dropped a noisy, weird, and awesome outtake from the album’s sessions. Turn it up.

Model/Actriz – Diva

I continue to be entirely captivated by these Model/Actriz singles, and I’m really excited to hear the post-punk act’s impending album, Pirouette, which is – thankfully – out next week (May 2).

Club Night – Rabbit / Palace / Judah

These emo-leaning, art rock tunes from Club Night are great and highly recommended for fans of Braid, Cap’n Jazz, and such. The band will release an album titled Joy Coming Down on May 2.

Yumi Zouma – Bashville On The Sugar

Here’s Yumi Zouma with one of the most delightful indie pop tunes of the year. I assume they’ll be announcing an album soon.

Greg Freeman – Point And Shoot

Greg Freeman is set to put out a new album, Burnover, on August 22.  I think the press release that came along with this news hit the nail on the head when it noted Freeman’s sound as “energetic indie rock with an ambling twang.” I’m ready to hear more.
