Quickdraw: Mclusky, Chime Oblivion, Preoccupations, Bully
Enjoy.
Mclusky – Way Of The Exploding Dickhead
My old favs Mclusky just rolled out this clever, noisy jam while also finally announcing their first album since reuniting – the appropriately titled The World Is Still Here And So Are We will be out on May 9. Hopefully this also means they’re lining up a tour (with a stop in Austin, please).
Chime Oblivion – Neighborhood Dog
John Dwyer (OSEES) and David Barbarossa (Bow Wow Wow, Adam + The Ants) are the main brains behind Chime Oblivion, and their self-titled debut album will be released on April 18. The first single here is a weird little punk gem and I can’t wait to hear more.
Preoccupations – Focus
This driving number from Preoccupations is a real attention-grabber – it’s off their album Ill at Ease, which is due out on May 9. By the way, if you’re in Austin, they’re playing the Parish on June 17.
Bully – Atom Bomb (Electric Version)
Bully has released an electric (i.e. louder) version of their 2024 single Atom Bomb, and I think it’s pretty great. Turn it up.
