Squid have become one of my favorite art/post-punk bands over the last couple of years, so I definitely did a bit of fist pumping when I received details on their impending new album, Cowards (due out February 7). I recommend a good pair of headphones for this wonderfully textured single.

Angel Olsen – The Takeover (Poppy Jean Crawford Cover) / Poppy Jean Crawford – Glamorous

Angel Olsen is set to release Cosmic Waves Volume 1 on December 6 – it’s a compilation of original tunes from artists curated by Olsen + covers by Olsen of songs from those artists, which is a pretty cool concept. Here you’ll find her take on Poppy Jean Crawford’s The Takeover along with a single from Poppy Jean Crawford. Both tracks are great.

Fantasy Of A Broken Heart dropped an album, Feats Of Engineering, back in August, and now they’re following it up with this charming number. Expect it to get stuck in your head.
