Quickdraw: CHAI, Ratboys, Death Valley Girls, Twin Temple, Bewilder, Hotline TNT, Drop Nineteens, Mitski
Enjoy.
CHAI – New Kawaii, K?
I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to listen to this new CHAI number and not want to get up and dance. The band will release their self titled album on September 22.
Ratboys – Crossed That Line
Here’s an upbeat, quick shot from Ratboys. I can’t wait to check out their new album, The Window, which is due August 25.
Death Valley Girls – I Am A Wave
First of all, if you’ve yet to check out Death Valley Girls’ Islands In The Sky, you should really do that because it’s a great album. Secondly, this new one-off single is a gem.
Twin Temple – Burn Your Bible
Twin Temple just announced a new album – God Is Dead will be out on October 13. Get yourself a dose of “Satanic Doo-Wop” here via this new track.
Bewilder – Breaking
If you’re into emo that’s a bit more low key, I think you’ll dig this new one from Bewilder. The band is set to release an album titled From The Eyrie on October 6.
Hotline TNT – Protocol
Hotline TNT just signed to Third Man Records and dropped this shoegaze-leaning single to celebrate the occasion. I’m excited to hear more from them.
Drop Nineteens – Scapa Flow
If you’re a massive Drop Nineteens fan, then today is your day because the band is back with a new album, Hard Light (due November 3), and their first single in a whopping 30 years. Sounds like they’ve still got it.
Mitski – Bug Like An Angel
Mitski’s new album is pleasantly titled The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We and it’s coming out on September 15. This first single is immaculate.
