Quickdraw: Protomartyr, Crumb, Girl And Girl, Palehound, Bully, GUM & Ambrose Kenny-Smith, Island Of Love, RVG
Enjoy.
Protomartyr – Elimination Dances
I’m so into this slinky single from Protomartyr. The post-punk band will release their album Formal Growth In The Desert on June 2.
Crumb – Dust Bunny
Crumb are out on the road (and set to play Austin Psych Fest this weekend), so they’ve dropped their second single of the month. It’s a bit more bombastic than they usually get.
Girl And Girl – All I See
Girl And Girl just dropped this infectious number alongside word that they’ve signed to Sub Pop. I’m excited to see what’s next for the garage rock band.
Palehound – The Clutch
Indie rock act Palehound have a new album on the way – Eye On The Bat is set to be released on July 14. The first single here packs a real punch.
Bully – Hard To Love
Here’s the latest 90s-enthused rocker off Bully’s upcoming album, Lucky For You (due out June 2). By the way, if you’re in Austin, the band is playing the Moody Amphitheater on June 25 with the Pixies and Franz Ferdinand.
GUM & Ambrose Kenny-Smith – Minor Setback
GUM (Jay Watson of Tame Impala and Pond) and Ambrose Kenny-Smith (of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard) teamed up for a two-song 7″ for Record Store Day, and this psychedelic tune is my favorite of the bunch.
Island Of Love – I’ve Got The Secret
If you don’t yet have Island of Love’s upcoming self-titled debut album on your radar, you really should. Here’s another banger off it.
RVG – Midnight Sun
This is an inspired song from RVG, one that seems to be fueled by a good amount of rage. The band’s new album, Brain Worms, will be out June 2.
