Quickdraw: Indigo De Souza, Wallice, Greg Mendez, Youth Lagoon, Feeble Little Horse, Alex Lahey, Be Your Own Pet

Enjoy.

Indigo De Souza – You Can Be Mean

If you haven’t been in on the singles in the run up to Indigo De Souza’s new album, All Of This Will End, then get on it because all of them (including today’s) have been fantastic. What a songwriter. By the way, the LP is out April 28.

Wallice – Best Friend

Good news! If you’re in need of an anthem to blast while you reflect on friends of yesteryear, Wallice has you covered with this new tune. For those in Austin, she’s playing Antone’s on July 11.

Greg Mendez – Goodbye/Trouble / Maria

I overlooked Greg Mendez’s single Goodbye/Trouble when it was first released, so I’m tossing it in here alongside his new one, Maria. Both are wonderfully earnest. Mendez will release his self-titled album on May 5.

Youth Lagoon – Prizefighter

Youth Lagoon just dropped this lovely single and some new tour dates (he’ll be in Austin at Antone’s on September 29). His album, Heaven Is A Junkyard, is due out June 9.

Feeble Little Horse – Steamroller

“You fuck like you’re eating” is such a funny line. Feeble Little Horse have a new album on the way – Girl With Fish is due out June 9. Also, Austin-based folks, they’re playing the Mohawk on July 12.

Alex Lahey – They Wouldn’t Let Me In

Here’s a sharp and and danceworthy new single from Alex Lahey. Her album, The Answer Is Always Yes, will be released on May 19. If you’re in Austin, she’s playing the Parish on June 16.

Be Your Own Pet – Hand Grenade

I had a blast seeing Be Your Own Pet at SXSW, and I’m all about them keeping the momentum going. This single – their first new piece of music since 2008 – is a fun one.
