Parquet Courts – Black Widow Spider

I wasn’t all that into the first single off of Parquet Courts impending album, but this latest one (and its old school sound) is really working for me. Sympathy For Life will be out on October 22. Also, if you’re in Austin, they’re playing Stubb’s on November 19.

Weakened Friends – Quitter

Weakened Friends have announced a new album, Quitter, and it’s coming out on November 19. The title track here is an indie rock banger.

I really enjoyed Chastity’s debut album, 2018’s Death Lust, and then didn’t really find myself attached to the follow-up, 2019’s Home Made Satan. I’m digging this hook-laden, pop punk-ish single though, so maybe the next LP, Suffer Summer (due out January 13), will be a hit for me.

Spice – A Better Treatment

Spice’s self titled debut was a big favorite of mine last year, so I’m really excited for the two-song EP they’ve got coming out on November 19. By the way, this single is a wonderful wall of sound.

The Coathangers – One Way Or Another (Blondie Cover) / LA Witch – Ghost On The Hightway (The Gun Club Cover)

If you’ve been hankering for a couple of nice covers, then you should get in on this split 7″ from The Coathangers and LA Witch. Side note, the physical version already sold out, so you’ll have to live with a digital copy only.
