No Age – Head Sport Full Face

Goons Be Gone, the highly anticipated new album from No Age, will finally arrive on June 5. Here’s another stellar single off of it (this makes them 4/4).

Mrs. Piss – Knelt

Chelsea Wolfe and Jess Gowrie have teamed up to form Mrs. Piss. Downers Surrounded By Uppers is OK, but I really like Knelt – it’s sludgy and heavy in all the right ways.

Big Black Delta – Lord Only Knows

The press release for this track noted that it “starts like Whitesnake and ends like Liberace,” and I just assumed that was a bit of silliness. Nope. It’s actually a pretty apt description. Go figure. At any rate, Big Black Delta will release 4 on July 10.

Phoebe Bridgers – I See You

I’ve listened to Phoebe Bridgers’ sophomore full length, Punisher, a couple of times now, and I’m happy to report that it’s great. Check out the latest offering from the LP, which will be out on June 19. Side note, she just announced some livestream performances.

Matt Berninger – Serpentine Prison

The National’s Matt Berninger has been gearing up for the release of his solo album for seemingly an eternity now, so it’s nice to see it finally get firmed up – Serpentine Prison will be out on October 2. I love the horn usage here. Also, the line “I need a vacation from intoxication” is an easy one to relate to whilst in quarantine.

Lean Year – Panes

This is a really rad, headphone-worthy new one from Lean Year. Can’t wait to hear more. In the meantime, I suppose I’ll check out the self titled effort that they put out back in 2017.

Ian Sweet – Sword

Ian Sweet (aka Jillian Medford) is fully pop on this digi-single, and it totally works for her. Hopefully a new album announcement is coming soon.
