Quickdraw: Perfume Genius, No Age, Archers Of Loaf

First up, sorry for the inconsistent posting this month.  I’m getting married this week, and that’s been eating up all of time!  Hopefully I can pick things back up next week just before SXSW comes in and discombobulates me all over again.

Perfume Genius – Describe

Set My Heart On Fire Immediately is the wonderfully dramatic title of the new Perfume Genius album that’s coming on May 15.  I’m surprised at how minimalist this first track is – I was definitely expecting something huge.  By the way, he’ll be opening for Tame Impala at the Frank Erwin Center on July 23.

No Age – Turned To String

No Age are back with a new album.  It’s titled Goons Be Gone (due June 5), and the first single is an uptempo effort that’s noisy in all the right ways.  I wish they were playing SXSW.

Archers Of Loaf – Raleigh Days

Welcome back, Archers Of Loaf.  I sure love the shimmery guitars in this new song.  We all need to make sure to see the band when they play the Mohawk on May 16.
