Quickdraw: Saudade, Cursive, Soccer Mommy

Enjoy.

Saudade – Crisis

Supergroup Saudade (you can read all about the members here) have signed to Sargent House and will be putting out an EP, Shadows & Light/Sanctuary Dub, later this year.  I’m all about this heavy, instrumental track.

Cursive – Marigolds

Cursive haven’t officially announced a new album, but over the last few weeks they’ve rolled out three singles, which makes me think that something is coming soon.  This slow burner is my favorite of the bunch put out so far.  By the way, the band is playing the Mohawk on November 22.

Soccer Mommy – Lucy

Here’s a fantastic new one from Soccer Mommy’s upcoming 7″ (due out sometime in November).  I love her enthusiastic description of it:

“‘Lucy is a really fun song for me because it has a dark, evil vibe. It’s a song about struggling with inner demons and your own morality, but I masked it with this scenario of being seduced by the devil. I’m really excited to share this with everyone because I think it shows a different side of my writing.”

Can something be called a supergroup when most people (including me) have not heard of any of the members? FWIW, the song is not very good either.
