While I think a new Dinosaur Jr. album would be real nice right about now, I certainly have no issue getting onboard with the latest solo effort from J. Mascis. I really love his voice on these stripped down songs. Elastic Days is due out November 9.
Doe – Labour Like I Do

I appreciate that the songwriting in this indie rock gem is totally smirk-worthy. Consider me excited to check out Doe’s Grow Into It (due September 28).
Strange Ranger – New Hair
Here’s a very catchy tune from Strange Ranger. It’s barely two minutes long, so it’s fine if you just leave it on repeat for a while. The How it All Went By EP is due out October 28.
J’s new track lackluster. The guitar isn’t up to much and the tune is barely memorable. Some of the lyrics are pretty cool. But compared to new music from Bob Mould, Buffalo Tom, and more, this isn’t quite doing it for me. I need to hear the rest of the record.
