Happy Metal Fun Time (Chuck)

I am not sure if I have ever really done this one before, but this month is the birthday of Texas metal icon Dimebag Darrell, and for over a decade I have paid tribute on my show by playing nothing but his music for a couple hours. This year is a rather somber one, as his brother Vinnie Paul Abbott passed away in June. I followed up with a special show then, too, so it just seemed appropriate to do a playlist dedicated to them both.

Not only were the two of them so inspirational to the metal scene in Texas, but around the globe they brought metal into places we’d never thought it possible before. They were both kind, accepting, loving men, who partied hard, played harder and were genuine people who gave their all to their craft. Take a little time out to remember their music, and let it live on forever!
