Happy Metal Fun Time (Chuck)

I usually do the “Best of Metal So Far” thing in June, but I totally forgot to do it as part of HMFT. At this point, 2018 has been a little weak for metal, but some of the releases we have had will be in the stack for a long time. Some creative and innovative in new directions, others the same path laid before them, but done in such a way that they stand out against the background of drudgery and mediocrity that accompany the flood of releases every year. Look out on this list for some great new directions for metal and some stuff that will tickle the ears of old school fans, too.
