Today's Quick Mention:  A local band known as The Gary recently did a two part Hardly Sound session with Randy Reynolds, who is Leatherbag and runs a video music magazine called Stuck.  You should check it out.  It'll make you life at least 70% better.

I can't blame any artist for doing whatever it takes to market themselves and stay current, but I think I'll always find it a little strange that the Arcade Fire specifically wrote a track for The Hunger Games.  Oh well.  At least it's killer.  The soundtrack also features the Decemberists, Neko Case, the Low Anthem, and many more.  It's due out March 20.  Enjoy.

:Arcade Fire - Abraham's Daughter:  If you're like me and thought there were some moments that were too slow (aka boring) on AF's last album, then this will restore your faith in their ability to keep things interesting.  Here's hoping they keep moving in this direction, as their usual epic ways work rather well when they're given a once over with an ominous touch.
