Today's Quick Mention:  Tonight our friends over at Ultra8201 are having a show at the Swan Dive to celebrate their sixth year of existence.  You should go.  TV Torso, the Politics, and Young Girls are set to play.  Tix are a very affordable $5.  Doors should be open at 9pm.

Good news!  The Jesse Elliot-lead group of folks known as These United States have readied a new album.  Check out the first single below.  The self titled LP, which is the band's fifth full length, features a slew of guest artists (Michael Nau of Cotton Jones, Laura Burhenn of Mynabirds, David Moore of Langhorne Slim, and plenty more) and is expected out June 12 via United Interests.  Enjoy.

:These United States - Dead And Gone:  It's hard to listen to this and not want to call it Jack White-light.  Such a comment, of course, is far from being a bad thing, but for some reason it doesn't seem entirely fair.  Anyhow, I really dig the track, and I'm excited to hear what else fills the new album.  Maybe I'll make some plans to try and catch the band at SXSW.
