Today's Quick Mention:  Plenty to see tonight.  The Cribs are playing the Parish, and Red 7 has a packed local lineup of Bobby Jealousy, Shivery Shakes, Oh No Oh My, the Great Nostalgic, the Couch, Boy, Hollows, Boy, Burgess Meredith, and Jason Ludwig.

Since I shared the first single from their new LP, all kinds of great things have been happening for my friend Matt Hines and his act the Eastern Sea.  They're now set to play Blues on the Green and ACL, and they've had praise thrown their way from places like MTV Buzzworthy (like SOTO, but a little bigger).  Way to be, guys!  Plague is due out June 26 via WhiteLabBlackLab.  Enjoy.

:The Eastern Sea - Wasn't For Love:  I've had this Austin-based band's album for a bit now, and this has remained as one of my favorite songs.  It's easily accessible, and I love that it reminds me of a better time when Death Cab For Cutie didn't put me to sleep.  In other words, the track is inspired.  Do me a favor and join me in hearing this live when they play Stubb's on June 22 with Dana Falconberry.
