Oh, summertime. Summer is here and that means it is time for late night dance parties, on Mondays, even though you have summer school the next morning because, hello, it is still summertime.

Here are two songs that totally rocked a dance party for me this Monday.

Oh, Whitney. You were the queen. Can we talk about this song? From the moment she yells "Wooo!" you know this is a sing along jam. I highly recommend dramatic hand gestures, dance-leaping, and getting up in people’s faces while singing the chorus. Honestly, the song doesn’t even need to be on, you should just get up in people’s face while a cappella singing the chorus. Oh, and can we talk about the music video for this song? Colors and shoulder pads and dancing dapper dudes and why was I not born yet.

I’m sorry, did you forget about Usher? Please don’t forget about this smooth, smooth gentleman - he just wants to "love" you. In this club. Sure, it’s not quite as classic as Ms Houston, but I feel confident that this song is just on its way to hall of fame status. It’s a slower jam, "for the ladies," but Young Jeezy’s verse would surely resonate with any man. It’s also a great verse to memorize, in case no one else does and you end up being the lone person screaming it at the top of your lungs in the middle of the dance floor. Ahem. This song is great for when you need to take a breather but don’t want to stop dancing. Just do some swaggy shoulder rolls and exaggerated sways while attempting to imitate Ushers fantastic falsetto.

P.S. Don’t take any of my advice on dance moves ... unless you wanna be AWESOME and SUPERCOOL.
