Today's Quick Mention:  In case you somehow missed it, we're giving away a pair of tickets to see Conveyor play the Mohawk this Thursday with Holiday and Cigarettes After Sex.  Sign up!  It'll only take a second, and you may get a free show out of it.

Mono have long been at the top of my favorite instrumental act list, but now I think I'm ready to slide them over to the cluster of bands that I refuse to live without.  They're just brilliant, and I'm so excited for their new album.  The full length is titled For My Parents, and it's due out on September 4 via Temporary Residence LTD.  Enjoy.

:Mono - Dream Odyssey:  If you've ever heard even just one Mono song, then you know what to expect here.  The sound is huge, almost too big to fully take in, and it's immaculately crafted.  The band can't take all the credit, though, since they have the Wordless Music Orchestra helping to make this track swell like nothing else.  You must experience this with headphones.
