Today's Quick Mention: I'm assuming
most of you are off tomorrow, so you might as well
call it a late one tonight. Have fun, be safe,

2012 is turning out to be a good year for soul/funk
music. At just the halfway point we've already
gotten rather nice releases from the Sugarman 3 and
Lee Fields And The Expressions, and now there's one
coming from Antibalas. The full length, which
is their first in five years, is self titled and due
out August 7 via the great Daptone Records.

Just in case you wanted to listen to something that makes
you feel like maybe you're not cool enough to exist, here's
this track! Just kidding. Sort of. Anyhow,
you have a variety of issues you if you don't at least want
to attempt moving some part of your body when this is on.
I can't wait to see how the band plays in front of thousands
of people at ACL in October.
