Harrison Ford
is said to be close to signing on to appear in Ridley
Scott's still far-off Blade Runner film.
Speaking of Ridley Scott, he's set to direct an adaptation
of Cormac McCarthy's The Counselor. The book
deals with a lawyer who becomes a drug trafficker.
Al Pacino will voice the villain in Despicable Me 2.
It's his first role in an animated film.
Sony is already moving forward with a sequel to the The
Raid, which is still currently unreleased in the US.
Director Gareth Evans will return.
Joe Johnston (Captain America) will direct Not
Safe For Work. The film is said to follow a
paralegal who is trapped in an office with a killer that's
been sent to destroy some files.
Director James Wan is said to be working on a sequel to
Insidious.
Marc Forster (Quantum Of Solace) has decided to not
direct the adaptation of The War Magician.
Brad Bird may direct Here There Be Monsters.
Robert Zemeckis was originally attached to the film, which
is a history/fantasy mash-up that follows John Paul Jones on
a quest to find a sea monster.
Russell Crowe and Liam Neeson are said to be up for roles in
Darren Aronofsky's Noah.
Justin Timberlake is said to be close to signing on to
appear in Clint Eastwood's Trouble With The Curve.
The film will follow a baseball scout on a road trip with
his daughter.
Nick Schenk has been hired to do rewrites on MGM's
Robocop reboot. Jose Padilha (Elite Squad: The
Enemy Within) is still set to direct.
Matthew Vaughn has officially signed on to direct the sequel
to X-Men: First Class.
Rooney Mara has signed on to appear in Steven Soderbergh's
Side Effects. She's replacing Blake Lively.
Gary Oldman, Amber Heard, and Dominic Cooper have signed on
for Motor City. The movie will supposedly
follow a wrongly convicted man who is getting revenge on
those that put him in prison.
John Hawkes and Mos Def will star in Switch, which is
a prequel to Jackie Brown.
John Carney (Once) is set to direct Mark Ruffalo and
Scarlett Johansson in Can A Song Save Your Life?.
Like his previous film, it will follow musicians.
Will Smith and Russell Crowe will star in an adaptation of
Winter's Tale. The film, which is Akiva
Goldsman's directorial debut, will follow a man who is
determined to save a dying girl.
Taylor Lautner has dropped out of Stretch Armstrong.
Joe Carnahan (The Grey) is currently planning a remake of
Death Wish.
Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence will star in an
adaptation of Serena. The book follows a
married couple who are aggressively starting a timber
empire.
