Today's Quick Mention: It's Tuesday, but that doesn't mean you can't have some
fun. Chairlift, Nite Jewel, and Bell are
playing the Mohawk tonight, and I'm sure it's going
to be a good one. Be there! Tix are just
$12. Doors are expected to open at 6:30pm.
The Mystery Jets have returned. I've long
found the band to be a high quality act, but there's
also a part of me that will always consider them to
be somewhat of a guilty pleasure. I blame all
their sweet pop sensibilities. Radlands,
which was actually largely recorded here in Austin,
is due out on April 30 via Rough Trade. Enjoy.

Jets - Someone Purer: I think that listening to this song (and watching the
video below) will clue you in as to why I find the band to
be a guilty pleasure - the lyrics are cheesy, and there's
something about the presentation that plays out a little too
dramatic. Still, I've been humming this track since I
heard it, and that's mostly all that matters in my world.
