Today's Quick Mention:  If you do anything tonight, it has to involve heading over to the Mohawk.  The Hold Steady, the Happen-Ins, Megafaun, Field Report, and Dana Falconberry are set to play on the two stages.  It's pretty much a can't miss kind of show.  Tix are $18. Doors at 6:30pm.

I love anything that comes out of Daptone Records, so I was rather excited when some new stuff from the Sugarman 3 arrived via email last week.  In case you don't know, the band is lead by the label's co-founder and Dap-Kings member, Neal Sugarman.  You're going to dig what he's done.  What The World Needs Now, which is the band's first LP in a decade, is due out May 15.  Enjoy.

:The Sugarman 3 - Rudy's Intervention:  Hopefully, you're giving this a listen right as you're settling in at work or wherever you are.  It has a particular groove to it that'll make any day seem tolerable, and that's just the best way to get things going.  Kudos to the band for following through on the title of the album and actually giving the world what it needs ... now.
